CitiFinancial Auto

My husband and I had a loan with CitiFinancial Auto, we had no issues with the loan. We paid off the car in 2008 but the MVA is still showing the lender in their computer system.

Recently the car was totaled and we cannot find the lien release and title. After many, many phone calls and online searches concerning Arcadia Financial (original lender); CitiFinancial; OneMain Financial; Santander...oh my goodness what a mess of a trial! I was able to apply for lien release at the link below.

We'll see what happens next.

If anyone needs a Lien Release try www.TitleMyWay.com and see if they can assist you! Their toll free number is 866-244-****.

We have had the same experience, we are gonna try your information, hoping this may help us... Titleless in Texas

I went through this process. Citifi Auto was sold out to Santander.

After contacting them at 888-222-**** and dealing with a very annoying automated system I was finally able to get through to a customer service rep.

I was told because we paid off our truck after 2010 I had to go to www.mytitlesupport.com or call them at 888-299-**** to request the lien release. Even though I have never received a lien release I still had to pay $30 to get it and wait 7-10 days or pay an extra $5 to have it faxed then mailed to me.

Guest

GMAC financing did the same exact thing to me on my car and my car was paid off for over a year and half. The registration office in my state said this happens a lot with loan companies, that they do not send the loan release so that they are able to be taken off as lien, as if they are expecting to get more money, and to add to it they also will charge you more money for the release.

Guest

Thank you this information has been vary helpful

Guest

I am in debted 2 you the original person that wrote ths email.... I never got a copy of the title from Arcadia (very long story I won't go into).....

I contacted the people you referred and they got it to me within a week and a half!!!!! I can't imagine how I would have gotten this done without finding your post!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for taking the time to share.

This company responded very quickly to my request and I couldn't be happier!

Lien Release try www.TitleMyWay.com and see if they can assist you! Their toll free number is 866-244-**** .

We have the same exact issue. Were you able to get the lien release? I was given an email to citifinancial but haven't heard anything back.

They were sold out to Santander (888-222-****) but don't bother calling. They will tell you that you have to contact www.mytitlesupport.com or call them at 888-299-****.

By the way, you'll have to pay $30 and wait 7-10 days to get it! Or..,pay additional $5 if you want it faxed in 2-3 days!! GRRRR!!!

Very unhappy as I never received one from Citifi! Lesson learned: Get my lien release as soon as I pay off a vehicle!!

Citifinancial Screwed Me Over

I purchased a card in 2008 using Citifinancial Auto Loans through Enterprise Car Sales. Two years later my loan is sold to Santander. Citifinancial never sent me the title or lien release when Santander took over my loan. Last July my bank took over the loan on my van making my interest rate 15% less!! Yeah. Anyway, I have spoken for over 6 months to Santander regarding getting a lien release and they in turn say contact Citifinancial. I attempted to contact Citifinancial through every phone number, email and any other way to contact them to submit a request for a lein release. I have paid off my vehicle and am attempting to sell it to another individual but I cannot do so because NO ONE will give me my lien release!! I am frustrated beyond compare. I cannot even trade this vehicle in for a new one because Citifinancial still has the lein on my vehicle, not my bank.

Few things for you, when your loan was sold to santander of course they would have not sent you your title or lien release. You still owed the debt.

Just as when your mortgage is sold they do not release the mortgage, it just has a new servicer. If santander had your loan when it was bought out then they must release title not citi.

This is why citi sold the loans so they do not have to service them at all. Just as mortgage if is sold to 2nd co you do not contact the 1st one to get it released when it is paid off you contact the 2nd.

Citifinancial Auto

I am in a dilemia, Paid off loan and received to clear title to car with lein removed. Have been trying for 2 years. I am looking to trading cars and this is a problem. Citifinancial is still in business, but no phone numbers to be found even on internet. If you call you just get the run around. I am now turning this over to The Secretary of State as a customer problelm and will probably be filing papers in court. Do not deal with this fly by night company or beware, because service is terrible once they get your money.

did they send you paperwork and you signed it? or did you just put yourself as an authorized contact?

If they provided paperwork to you and you signed it ans sent it back you're out of luck.

I have a hard time seeing how they can add your name to a contract without getting you personal info such as SSN, address, phone#, and financials. Unless you provided that at the delaership...

Paid off our loan and they sent us the title

Paid off our Auto loan over a year ago and they never sent us the title, Citifinancial Auto is no longer in business, they have since changed business names and we can't find anyone to talk to that can help us get our title. they can see that the loan was paid in full and the title wasn't released.

We were finally given a fax number to a third world country, that is the only contact that can be provided, I don't think we will ever see the title to our car, Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Needless to say pissed consumer doesn't come close to how I feel.

Citifinancial auto

My car was financed by citifinancial auto . They sold my car note to Santander Consumer. When I call Santander , they said this is a debt collection. I was not behind on my note and now after getting my debt somewhat cleared up they have my note as a debt-collection. I am unhappy and I want an attorney to see what can be done. I am 72 years old and frustrated because of this. I want them to see this complaint and let everyone know what they are doing. I am sure there are others out there. they are messing up our credit.

My car was totaled. GAP insurance covered it during its time at citifinacial auto now they are trying to collect a balance due. Citi already gave my my title and release of lien.

Guest

Someone that deals with loans please tell me how Santander can get away with this. I paid 46 payments of the 63 due when Santander bought my loan from Citifinancial.

I have paid an additional 50 payments to Santander on top of the 46 already made and Santander says I still owe over 5,000.00.

May God bless us all. Santander...you should be so ashamed!!!!

Guest

I too have been scamed by Santander. I just sold my car so that they would pay off Santander just to get rid of them.

I bought a new car through a different bank.

I am going to have an Attorney look at what I have paid to Santander as my loan was also bought from Citifinancial by Santander. I paid this loan off more then a year ago, and they still say I owe over 5,000.00 If everyone were to file a complaint with the BBB and the Attorney General, maybe this would help.

Guest

When any company says "this is an attempt to collect a debt" it doesn't mean that you're behind. It simply means that you still have a balance on whatever you're still paying on and if they get any new information that can help collect on the balance in the future they will use it. Common misconception.

Guest

I do not work for citiauto as i have said before, There is not even any citiauto anymore since the sell of all the loans. I work for a local credit union and handle loans everyday.

For may, i did not say you had a choice in sell, just as you do not have a choice if your mortgage is sold to someone. But you had a chance to read all contracts before you signed it!!

Guest

Please understand one important thing. Your loan was sold to santander not turned over to a collection agency, just like when your mortgage co sell your mortgage to another co.

It had nothing to do you with you being late. ALL CITIAUTO loans were sold, no exceptions. Citi decided to close citiauto and no longer service the loans.

For may, they can sue to garnish your wages if they repo your car and sold it for less than you owed. It is called a judgement and will be on your credit also until is paid off.

Just because the car was repo it does not release your from debt unless they sell it for what you owed (which usually never happens).

If your husband was on as co app he can be sued and garnished also. They can also put a judgment lien on your home even if you have mortgage so that you can never sell, transfer or refi home unless it is paid off first.

Guest

I have taken steps with the Attorney General & BBB for a class action lawsuit. those of you interested please provide the following information

Name, Address, contact phone number. All other information regarding your complaint that reflect a current and old account with Santander will be asked for once you are contacted.

The AG Office and BBB have enough reports of this company and the "suspected" fraudulent activities that has them interested to investigate.

Guest

I too had a veffhicle financed thru citifinancial. they sold my loan to santander.

I will admit they payments fell behind due to being out of work. i set up a payment schedule with the company, i was only one payment to be paid and then i would have been caught up. they did not even let me make the payment on the agreed upon date. the came and repossessed my truck on christmas eve.

now they are calling and harassing us years later, threatining to take my husbands wages. when he was not even a signer on the loan.

they need to be investigated because this harassment has to stop. the vehicle was not even worth 8 grand

Need car title

In January 2011, I began contacting the Dept of Revenue of Missouri for the title for my vehicle, financed through Citifinancial Auto. In February 2009, I made, what I presumed to be my final payment on the auto loan. In February 2011 I accessed Citifinancial website to try to obtain information on my lost title. I was directed to a company called Santander. There website stated I had a $0 balance. I chatted live with a representative who stated that I owed $1810.97. I requested an itemized printout of my account, which shows $0 balance. Please assist me with clarification on my lost title. I have also maintained insurance on this vehicle until May 1st 2011, at which time I have dropped the insurance coverage due to this broken communication system and information that is being withheld from me to finalize this. I am contacting the Attorney General's office of the state of Missouri also.

Citifinancial Auto sold my loan to a money hungry loan company

Received a letter informing me my loan was sold to Santander Consumer USA, Inc. This new company will charge for everything they do including any type of payment ($10.95) to apply to the loan. Their customer service personnel do not care about what you need, they just want your money - do not care about anything else. I was told since it was not in the contract to waive the fee, I will be charged a service fee. I am already paying for the loan monthly. The website has only PO Box addresses - no street addresses - no location listed to be able to go and make payment. I see this as only a money hungry company. Not fair! Horrible company!

my husband and i had the same thing happen.. our loan was sold to santander from citi and the price doubled..

from 8 payments left to 16.. santander said that was done by citi and of coarse you cant get ahold of citi anymore to find out the truth.. to avoid losing our car we paid the amt owed to get rid of them..

even our very last payment to them was a nightmare.. they are a horrible company

Guest

Santander Consumer USA stinks. Citifinancial mistakenly debitted my account twice causing my other payments and debits to bounce. This caused over 300 bucks in NSF fees.

When I called Citi I was told they would reverse the debits and to call back on Tuesday. When I called back Tuesday I was informed that my new company was Santander Consumer and they knew nothing about it and were not going to refund the money back or pay the fees. After 2 weeks of fighting I received the 2nd payment back but NEVER received the overdraft fees.My bank even faxed a letter stating none of the fees would have occured if the 2nd pymnt wasnt processed. I contacted the BBB and received a response where Santander told them I actually agreed to the double payment but they reversed the 2nd as a courtesy.

REALLY?!?! Crooks..Can't wait until my LAST payment next year!!Also since the change I have had a couple $10.95 fees and $14.95 fees added to my account.

The reps I speak with can not explain them and promise a supervisor will call me within 48hours which never happens.. Is this even legal...

Guest

:upset has citifinancial sold contracts to ge money ????

Guest

They are demanding 2600 from on my car loan that was also sold to them by Citifinancial. She said my 60 months is up and i have to pay the balance which is interest and other fees.

They are stating my account is 50 days late which is untrue and she asked what I could pay and I told her I thought you wouldn't accept anything but the balance and she said she would but the problem is they will still report it late until the full balance is received so you take the chance of your vehicle getting repossessed even if you make the payment . I told her I want a letter in writing stating when the balance is paid I will receive my title because I told her to google her company and then she will know why I don't trust them, she put me on hold because she knows I know they are a scam company. I need help I have the money to pay them but how can I be sure they won't still take my car and what is the best payment method to be sure. Everyone please be aware of this company.

I can't believe the government let's this go on, it's hard enough to live these days without companies like this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Guest

My loan was also changed to this *** poor company!! Their customer service is horrible!

They charge me the $10.95 fee as well! I never thought I'd say this, but i want citi back!

Guest

I too have had nothing but misery from Santander. Reading the above complaints it is more comforting that I am not alone with the abuse of this company.

I never received a notification of company change, they are extremely rude, and they do not stop calling even when you have already spoke with them. I have received phone calls after 9:00 pm. I have spoken with reps got hung up on and then called back and nothing had been written in are account discussing an agreement that the first rep agreed on.

What I don't understand, wasn't Citifinancial one of the bank that got a huge loan from the goverment?, And doesn't goverments money come from the tax payers, oh yeah that would be us when we all had jobs. So the way I see it is Citifinancial got a loan from us when they where down yet when the American people are down and we are just asking for a little leeway way, they turn around and sell us to a company that can't even hire people who speak English......What is wrong with picture.

Guest

Is it legal for CitiFinancial to sell the loan to Santander and change the terms of the loan? I had a traditional car loan from CitiFinancial and they changed it to a simple interest car loan at Santander.

Would really like to know. btw; not terribly impressed by the customer service either.

Guest

Well, like I've posted in here before, I was approved for a modification on my loan right before the transition. I was told I "HAD" to be 2 months late in order to qualify for the amendment to my loan.

Citifinancial said they would fax over the paperwork that day, but I never got it because unknown to me they were transfering over to Santander. Santander wants all the payments now or the repo man will be coming in a week. No one ever told me anything about late fees in order to qualify for the amendment or that I would have my car repossessed by Santander if I followed the amendment rules. Class actions against them are on sueeasy .

com Free to state your case on there and join everyone else. Maybe a lawyer will soon take notice and help us.

Guest

I feel all of the distress mentioned in these responses. CitiFinancial Auto did a gross disservice to its customers in selling loans to Santander without prior notice and a massive disservice by not ensuring payments made to Citi in September were visible to Santander.

Santander accused me of lieing about not being notified. They also accused me of not paying my September payment (I have NEVER been late during the 3 years I've been with Citi!! NEVER!). This resulted in Santander FRAUDULENTLY accessing my checking account and debiting the September payment that had already posted with Citi!

The Santander customer service team claims to be in Dallas, TX. I find that difficult to believe since ALL OF THEM have speech accents that are quite difficult to understand.

I think we could all get together and file a class action suit against Citi for the manner in which they jeopardized consumer credit profiles due to SLOPPY handling of the loans to Santander. There are probably thousands of us who,if joined in force, could make Citi accountable for this debaucle.

Guest

I am pissed as well!!! It sounds like a very dirty fly by night company looking to cash in at the expense of the consumer.

I never received a letter either, and forwarded my payment to citifinancial, which I was told by a customer service rep as Sandeer that they will forward to them. But some part of me is skepticle because I think they may try to start a reposession in order to collect more money in fees.

CitiFinancial Auto/Santander changed balance on loan and charged late fees before sending a bill

I received the letter from Santander saying that they now Service Citifinancial auto loans as of September 6th. I received a bill from CitiFinancial for the September payment, but never received one from Santander. Santander started calling me relentlessly by September 27th asking for the September payment which I had already sent to CitiFinancial. I then asked them why I haven't received a bill from them and they told me I was lying because they sent one. I asked them where my October bill was and they said it is scheduled to be mailed on October 8th and payment was due on October 12th. Obviously, that is not a reasonable time to be able to get the payment out, which of course their answer to that was for me to give my bank account information over the phone to make the payment. Since I never even received a bill from them at that point, I was not going to hand out my information. The person I spoke to at Santander also told me that they BOUGHT the debt from Citi even though the letter I received and the Citi website both say that the loans are merely SERVICED by Santander. When I mentioned this to the Santander agent, she said I was lying about that too. Today (October 8th)I finally got A bill in the mail dated September 27th that shows a balance on the account that is more than $50 different as of September than the Citifinancial auto September statement showed.

I Hate Santander!!!!!! All of you make a report to BBB i did. It will be the only way to get your point across!

Guest

Theres nothing worse then being ontime, ahead, and with in the last few payments of completeing a loan when citi pulls this ***. Your direct deposit fails with this new debt collection agency, and Scamtander starts threating your cosigner which happens to be in retirement. Are their interns fresh out of prison, or are the people at citi on crack

Guest

seriously... worst.company.EVER.

they keep pulling my payment out on the wrong date overdrawing my account! i changed the date two months ago to be taken out on the 16th and they took it out a week early...AGAIN. overdrew my bank account... AGAIN. i called and she said "you changed the due date, not the day the money is taken out". i asked her to explain to me why i would change the due date if my money was going to continue to be withdrawn on the same day as before? that makes no sense. i told her they need to put the money back ASAP so i can pay rent and she said they will "send me a check". wow that's helpful i'm sure my landlord will understand completely...

we need a lawyer now.

Guest

OGM IM GOING THROUGH THE SAME SH....... THEY SOLD MY LOAN I HAD NO SAY THEY CALL 99 TIMES A DAY THEY SAY THEIR SENDING ME EMAILS ABOUT HELPING ME WITH MY ACCOUNT BUT NO EMAILS. WE NEED TO ALL DO A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT.

Guest

They did the exact same thing to me. No statement sent from Santander, I made payment anyway to keep from having any problems with late payments, they scream and holler at me on the phone.

Same mantra, your payments are late, late fees blah, blah, blah.

What a miserable company to try and do business with.

Guest

unfortunately, when I tried to use their online Chat, the *** disconnected me - twice. The first time, instead of just answering my question regarding why it was denying my payment, the person on the other end of the chat session just wanted to hound me as to why my payment was late (which it really wasn't, but whatever).

When I told him I wasn't going to answer his questions I just wanted help getting a payment entered, he ended the chat session. So, I tried to use the Chat session again, supposedly got the same person. He asked me my name, I gave it to him, and then he disconnected the chat session. All this when all I was trying to do was make a payment.

It turns out, they don't accept payments via Visa debit cards - only check cards that do not have the Visa logo on it. You'd think, considering how much they harass you, they would take the payment. I never dealt with a company before that didn't accept a payment with a Visa.

Another wonderful fact that I'm sure most don't know - apparently, if you ever paid with a check by phone to Citi, they forwarded your banking information to Santander.

I found this out when a woman I spoke to in Santander told me should could do a check by phone for me and she spouted off the last digits of my checking account and gave me the name of the Bank I do business with.

I can't believe Citi actually shared my banking information with a third party company. I refuse to ever do any business with Citi again if they do not protect the privacy of their customers.

Guest

I suggest to everyone to use Santanders live chat on their site so you can have printed record of what is going on. When you are ready to save, use the "PrintScreen" button on your keyboard, then paste in PaintShop Pro or whatever you have that will save an image.

You might want to hover your mouse over the date that you doing this too so you have that in your image. We are going to need as much in writing or print as we can so when this goes to a class action we have something other than their flaky words against ours.

Guest

Santander is the worst auto loan company period. I'm really disappointed that Santander will now be handling the Citiloan auto payments.

Hopefully, there will be a class action suit that I can be a part of.

I never would have purchased the second car if I had known that Santander would have been apart of it. Complete BS

Guest

Jerked around, that is exactly the same thing they did to my husband and I! But, we can't afford for them to come get our car since its the only reliable transportation my husband and I have to get to work, food, docs etc.

ANd since they screwed our credit and left us without options to get another loan, we have been stuck with their shamster treatment.

I'm in for a class action.

Lets start this and get the ball rolling! Where do we start and where are the attorneys that we can trust?

Guest

Santander calls all freaking day long and are annoying. I made an agreement with one of the people from their company on my car payment and then another agent calls about my loan being late after I already made an agreement with a different agent.

Then that lady wants to tell me that the person that I talked to and made the agreement with FROM THEIR COMPANY, isn't really apart of their company that they are just a 3rd party collector and that the agreement with them isn't valid!!! BULL ***!!! they called me saying they are Santander and have access to my freaking account so the agreement should be valid...also they do NOT work with you at all!!!!!

About tired of them already...I never got anything from CITI saying that my loan is going to Santander. wath a crock of bull ***!!!!!!!

Do not in anyway do business with Citifinancial Auto

I have two complaints with CitiFinancial Auto. I will also be contacting the local car dealership where I purchased my car and inform them of the fraudulent activity CitiFinancial Auto commits on their customers and to strongly suggest they immediately cancel any future deals with CitiFinancial Auto. My first complaint begins where I contacted CA to change my payment date. The representative I spoke to at that time was very polite in assisting me. When we spoke, I asked several times to confirm that by changing my payment date, I would not incur late fees. This is not the case. I have incurred late fees. I will be contacting CA for a statement of my account. My second complaint is my auto loan was paid off on 08/03/10. I have received the title in hand with a letter from CA that my account is paid in full. I had setup 3 automatic payments back in June, to be paid June, July and August. I was concerned my payment that I had scheduled online through the CitiFinancial Explore Payment Solutions to be debited on 08/18/10 would still be debited from my account. I contacted CA on 08/17/10 and spoke with a customer service representative named "Ron" who confirmed that he could not locate any automatic payments setup in the system for my account. I asked if there was any other system this payment could be in and again he confirmed no. Because CA's website provides hardly information regarding payments (and really anything in that matter regarding a customer's account), I went to the FAQ section on the CitiFinancial website and it is stated that "recurring payments are automatically cancelled when your account is closed. Your online account management access will be available for 60 days after your account is paid in full". This statement is false. My recurring payment was not cancelled as it was withdrawn from my account on 08/19/10. My monthly payment was $ 334.00, which I had not budgeted for as my account was paid in full at least 15 days before my automatic payment was scheduled to be withdrawn from my account. I can also no longer access my account online. I will be contacting CitiFinancial Auto later today to discuss the issues regarding my account. I will repost feedback once I have further information. Again, if you can stay clear of this money bloodhound, please do. I will never do any type of business again with CitiFinancial and will advise anyone I speak with to do the same. Cancel any account you have with them and invest it in a local bank or credit union.

UPDATE-as of today, I still have not received my refund due to me for an illegal debit withdrawn out of my checking account from CitiFinancial Auto. I have been extrememly mislead by their customer service representatives, as I was told that a refund check was going to be cut and mailed on 09/09/10.

I called 888-222-**** and spoke to a represenative at Santander Consumer USA who has now taken over CA loans (please note: I never received notification of this). I spoke with Chantelle who informed me that Santander took over CA loans on 09/01/10, so a refund should have been issued before then.

It will now take 30-45 BUSINESS DAYS until I can expect refund. It has now already been 37 business days; are they waiting until the last possible second to issue me my due monies?

UPDATE-as of today, I have still not received my refund check that was to be issued on 09/09/10. Funny how quickly they are to withdraw money illegaly from my account, but SLOW to refund it back.

I understand there are policies to ensure that the funds clear their account, but 20 days after the money cleared my account and OVER 30 DAYS since my account was paid off is absolutely insane. Of course now, the loans have been transferred to another company and I can't even get a LIVE person on the phone to confirm if a check has even gone out.

I send a fax today to the Team Leader....see if that gets me anywhere. If anyone could provide a contact person's name, mailing address where I could send a complaint to, that would be greatly appreciated!

For jim, they will not release any info to your kids unless the have power of att due to privacy laws. Also citi auto handles all repos and they will send you a letter with payoff amount including repo fees that will be needed to get your car back.

It does not matter why you were late, you were in default and had to been at least 30 (probably 45+) days late for it to had been repo.

They would even sent you a letter advising you had 15 days to bring account current or they would repo. How long were you in the hospital then?

Guest

I have never felt so helpless in my life. Citifinancial took my car after I have went into the hospital.

My children have tried calling them for a week now to find out what we need to pay to get my car back with no return calls. Why is it that the government bailed them out but they wont even answer the phone and work with us.

Guest

Thank you, I will go to the local office as I cannot even be transferred to a person at CitiFinancial who speaks English and it is very difficult to conduct business in that manner. I've also now been told by CitiFinancial a few more steps that I need to do before I can receive my refund check...this is very frustrating as no one there seems to have a clue on how to handle these types of situations.

Guest

All you need to do is provide the local Citifinancial office with a "written cease and desist" and make sure you get documentation such as a fax confirmation or UPS tracking # to confirm. This should stop all calls and if it does not you can sue them for up to 5 times the damages I believe. Good luck

2 payments in the same month??

I received an email from Citifinancial Auto stating "due to the way we process payments, we can no longer debit your account monthly UNLESS YOU AUTHORIZE US TO by following the link below and following the steps. Your Sept payment will not be deducted unless you AUTHORIZE us to. I go to the website and it looks unsecure, so I mailed my payment as instructed on the bill they send and per the email. The check was cashed on 9/10 (payment due date, 15th). I then get a letter in the mail stating Santander has taken over the loan. WHO? This company ALSO debited my acct 400+ dollars for my Sept payment. SO now, my acct has been deducted over 900 dollars for the month of Sept. You cannot contact Citi anymore and when you call Santander, they cant do anything for 3 days, they cant email me any kind of authorization from me AND I cannot locate their company on the BBB website?? SO Im sitting here stuck, waiting to get my money back. Good luck to those who are even thinking about anything to do with Citi and God Bless those of us who was sold to Santander!

I received the same letter from Santander right after Citifinancial stopped my direct payments. I thought something was a little weird about that.

I was trying to get a hold of Citifinancial to make sure that this Santander wasn't a scam because I hadn't received ANY notice from Citifinancial saying that my account had been purchased. What a mess.

Guest

Citi auto was scamming people left and right. They got caught, and were forced out of the auto loan business. They sold the portfolio to Santander who is trying to straighten out the mess.

Good luck, in the future pay your bills on time and you can get regular financing instead of 3rd rate financing/

Guest

Santander bought ought all citifianacial auto loans. Citifinancial auto no longer handles any of the accounts or has access to your account now that they have been tranfered.

Guest

Update: I did find them on the BBB website. Still no confirmation email from Santander :( To make matters worse, I am a college student and do not have 500 bucks to drop in my account, I have a pending check for the IRS!

Citifinial Auto Would Not take payment now want car!

I have been paying for my car since April of 2005.I had to declare bankruptcy last year,my lawyer did not tell me to send in the paper to keep the car, even though it does state the fact in all the papers and I kept making payments.I was *** enough to let the dealership put my friend's name on the title first because the interest would be a lot less.Well Now Citifinancial Auto will not speak to me they have taken my name off the car.Even though I did make payments until they refused to take them. I feel my bankruptcy was not handled correctly. So do not use Legal Helpers. They do not give you a office # only 1-800- it is no help.I will put this all over face book and anywhere else I can.I tried to make the payments. They took me off.I payed for the tags& registrations. It is very unfair! This is war!I will leave the car in worse part of town with the key in it and stop the insurance payment!Thank You!

Citifinancial auto now serviced by santander

I filed BK 9/2/10 and included the 1200 remaining balance in my filing which was sent to Citifinacial Auto. Then I received a letter saying the new servicer was Santander and so I called and gave them my attorneys name and number and advised them they were in violation of the law and subject to sanctions if they continued to harrass me. That was 10/4. Everything has been discharged and Santander called me an hour ago and when I informed the agent she was in violation of the law and gave her my attorneys name and number she refused to take it and had the nerve to advise me the call was being recorded. This company if not operating in accordance with notification not only from the courts but by my attorney and they just dont get it and dont seem to care about the laws.

Private, are you lame or what? You know what day your car note is due, I'm sure you balance your bank accounts right?

Didnt you think something was wrong the first or second month that they didnt charge you? Totally typical, you thought you were getting one over on the creditor, but really you just screwed yourself.

Guest

We had a auto draft from citifinancial they said it would not change until Oct to Santander. We found out today that it is 3 months past due, no warning, calls, letters, etc!!!

We tried to contact CF and of course got the run around!!

and Santander said there is nothing they can do to help us out. I am calling our lawyer.

Guest

No, they do not care about the laws. I would certainly contact my attorney about it. They can be sued for doing that to you!

You know, it's great to say that they are separate companies, because they are. But if Citifinancial is going to allow their name to be used, they should expect the flack that comes from the poor service. And Santander has been a nightmare!

Guest

Santander is now handling all citi auto loans. Also citi auto is seperate from citifinancial. Your loan was with citi auto!

Citifinancial Auto payment deferment

After setting up a payment arrangement with them in March due to an economic hardship (unforseen out of pocket medical expense) I was certain that I would be able to keep my payments on track. In May I started recieving collections calls stating my payments were 20 days late. As it turns out, CFA decided to stop deducting the payments from my checking account without telling me. More than a week of extra interest had accrued before I figured this out! No one bothered to call me to say that anything had changed. Now my payment is 20 days past due (more money for them)and I'm sure it's all legal. I wish more than anything I didn't have a loan with this company. Their systems don't talk to each other and the customer service sucks. I hope this company tanks and soon.

Guest

I recently send u an email about a letter indicating about a letter of payment in full please I need that so I can sell my car cause my title says that theirs a lein on the car so please let me know something

Guest

Well I have joined the ranks. I also knew nothing of the takeover by Santandar.

I have tried many times to call them in Dallas, get some *** who gives the main office number and NO ONE answers. Now trying to understand how they think my payoff is over six hundred more than my original finance amt. According to their own records. I owe just two payments, but that amt owed is more than 3 1/2 payments.

I will never buy a vehicle with citifinancil or Santandar!

If some car company wants to finance with them I will just not buy the vehicle! Hope the BBB gets this information!

Guest

I like how no two Santander reps give matching answers to any particular question... That's not at all frustrating when trying to figure your payoff total!

Oh yeah, and heaven help anyone that might need a loan modification packet because for the life of me I can't understand how- especially in this day in age- it could possibly take 5 to 7 business days to receive an email... Buncha f***in' shysters.

This is madness. So this country has gotten to the place where it allows companies like Citi to PIM its hard working citizens.

This Santander is a bank from Spain. This was a back door deal made with a foreign bank. So now we are paying a foreign company our US $$$. El Banco Santander.

To date, no one can explain to me my August 2010 car payment. My bank account shows that it was paid. According to Santander their system does not reflect that payment. Oh this is wonderful…in addition, some wonderful *** continued to withdraw unauthorized payment from my bank account.

Talk about illegal. All prior payment arrangements that were made with CitiFin. Auto, are now out-the-door. Hi!!!

CitiFinancial Auto, new PIM on the block. :upset

Guest

If you want to complain about santader then put in on santader sight and not citi auto. That is 2 different co!!!!

Guest

Im pissed myself. Unless I mail my payment in advance I have to pay a 10.95 convenience fee?

WTF???? that is insane!!!

Not to mention I was caught off guard with this company. Im looking for a refinance this is ***.

Guest

:eek i had the same happen 2 me an i startd recieving collection calls from them an i ignored them cauz i said i dnt hav an acct with them an didnt know that was what it was an they suck *** like citi this loan has been bought out 3 times an i want out this loan. esp when u cant talk to a rep.

Guest

So I am dealing with the same mess...this Santander group has ruined my credit...charged me late fees etc...even fees they cannot explain to me...after 4 different people....yes, the fee is only $5.06 but it is a matter of principle.

We had an agreement with Citi, and now that is gone out the window...and my credit has been ruined, showing 40 days late as of today...

i'm angry, i'm mad, and i'm going to tell everyone i know, on every single site i can find....funny (not really) thing is, i was not even aware that my account was considered "past due". had i known that, i could have paid it in full...by the way, this is my very last 2 payments on my loan...Santander trashed my credit on the last payment....unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!

BBB, facebook etc...here I come...

Guest

I'm confused about my payment this month! So frustrating, that I have not received a Noitce of Payment for the month of October.

My intial payment every month is th 28th. I call CitiFinanical many times I cannot get through, it says my account number is no longer active! What does that mean??? CITI FINACIAL WHAT IS GOING ON???

PLEASE EXPLAIN. I DID NOT GET ANY LETTER STATING YOU WERE CHANGING OR BEING BOUGHT OUT. IF THIS WAS THE CASE, DID THE NEW LOAN COMPANY SEND SOME KIND OF LETTER??? I'M FRUSTRATED, CONFUSED AND PISSED DUE TO THE LACK OF SERVICE (CITI FINANCIAL) OUTRAGED CUSTOMER!!!

I hope to hear from someone soon!!! I will be making a intial complain to BBB today.

I do not want a late payment showing up on my TRW when I never received a Notice of Payment to send a check! Ugh :(
